There are several types of checking accounts that DATCU offers. Some checking accounts may have a monthly service charge, if applicable. Our most popular checking account is free checking. This account does not incur a monthly service fee. 

Yes. It is free when you sign up for e-statements; otherwise, it is $5.95 per month and a checking account is required. Learn more about this service.

The savings account alone does not have a debit card. However, if you have a free checking account you can withdraw money at the ATM from your savings.

There are several options available to our membership. We can do an auto transfer from the savings/checking. You can transfer a payment from your account in home banking. We can also debit an account from another institution through ACH. Members can set up ACH in DATCU Online and the mobile app. Members can also come to one of our branches and pay by check or cash.

There are also several convenient methods of paying your credit card bill. You can set up an auto transfer each month through online banking. You also can mail a check with payment coupon, or visit any one of our ten branch locations. Use this address for payment:

When making a payment to the loan, let the teller know you are making an additional principal payment.

We make it very simple and convenient. If you do not have online banking, just sign-up for online banking where you will have the ability to make a payment from another financial institution through our online banking.

Yes, DATCU’s free online banking offers you a convenient way to monitor your accounts, view transaction history and balances, and also view all checks.

Sometimes this difference is due to debit card transactions that are pending and waiting to clear member accounts.

DATCU makes every attempt to make sure our members are receiving their statements and information in a timely and accurate manner. However, there are costs associated with mailing out statements and especially when the statements are returned to DATCU. A bad address fee is charged to an account when we do not have an accurate and up to date address for our members.

You can apply for a loan online. However, at this time, you will need to come in one of the branches or open an account by mail.

The call center is better equipped to service the calls coming into the credit union. However, they can always transfer any member to a branch for additional information, if needed. Most branches are geared to servicing the membership that are coming into the branch and may not always have the time or opportunity to take calls.

There are no penalties; if anything, you will save money.

No. It simply adds a month to the end of your loan, extending the contract.

Yes. You can access different accounts online. However, there are stipulations.

Once an authorization has been given, you will first need to try to solve the transaction dispute with the merchant. If dispute is not resolved, we will need you to come in and speak with a representative to try to dispute the transaction.

If paid by check, it will take 7-10 business days. You can request to receive and pick up the title in Denton, if payment is made by cash. This is not a frequent transaction, so approval must be submitted and the title department will need to be notified so that they can pull the title from the title vault area.

Buying holiday gifts or treating yourself to a trip? Bon voyage. Just resume your loan payment next month, and we'll consider things all square.

  • Do It Annually: You're allowed to skip one payment per loan per year.

Lighten Your Load

Anyone can face a temporary financial crunch. That's why DATCU has a Skip-A-Payment program that puts extra cash in your hand for gifts, a special trip, or unexpected expenses. To be eligible, you have to have made 12 payments on your loan. If you make loan payments via Payroll Deduction or Direct Deposit, your skipped payment will be deposited into your savings account. If you have credit insurance, the original terms will remain the same.

  2. In the section for ACCOUNT ACCESS/LOGIN NAME, click NOT REGISTERED
  3. Follow instructions (steps 1-4) to create login information and make security selections.

  1. Download the DATCU app to your smartphone or mobile device. (Free in the app store under DATCU.)
  2. Use the same username and password used for DATCU’s Online Banking.

  3. Click Enable All.

  3. Click on EXTERNAL PAYMENTS located in the dark green bar just under the tab.
  4. On the next screen, click on "FROM EXTERNAL ACCOUNT"
  5. Click View External Accounts.
  6. Click the "Add Account" to add bank information.

  2. Click on the Payments tab.
  3. Click on "FROM EXTERNAL ACCOUNT" 
  4. Choose the "FROM" account in the drop down menu.
  5. Choose the "TO" in drop down menu.
  6. Enter the amount.
  7. Click the slider to select if you want it be a recurring Payment.
  8. Select "Payment Date"
  9. Click "Make Payment"

*Once the payment information has been saved, the scheduled payment will show under the EXTERNAL TRANSFERS section.

Yes. Applications are kept on file for one year.

If a position is posted on our website, it is open, active, and the interview process may already be underway. If a particular position is no longer posted, it has been filled or is no longer available.
